Dear Commonwealth Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 24th Trianneal Meeting of the Commonwealth Medical Association from 14 to 16 October 2016 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
We are living in a globalised world where Digital Health is transforming healthcare and making it possible for healthcare to be delivered in a more efficient and productive manner rationally using the meager healthcare resources especially in the developing world where there is a large gap between the optimal recommended and actual healthcare workforce on the ground.
The conference in 2016 would therefore be organised in a manner that would empower national medical associations to play a leading role in that transformative process.
We welcome all of you to Colombo for the conference. We look forward to the active participation of your national medical association as well as members of your association in the conference.
We hope that you will enjoy the hospitality of Sri Lanka and its people.
I look forward to welcoming you in Colombo.

Prof. Vajira H. W. Dissanayake MBBS,PhD, FNASSL Chairperson, Organising Committee

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from the Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA).

It is with great anticipation that I am looking forward to the the 24th CMA Triennial meeting which is to be held in Sri Lanka on 14-16 October 2016.

The CMA is the parent body for all the National Medical Associations (NMA's) of the the Commonwealth and its main aim is to assist in improving the functioning of the NMA's. It is recognized by and works closely with the Commonwealth Foundation and Commonwealth Secretariat. Representatives of the CMA attend and contribute to the Commonwealth Health Ministers' Meeting in Geneva and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) .

Over the period 2013-14, the CMA has been exploring the role of ICT in all aspects of Health care and the Sri Lankan Medical Association (SLMA) has been at the fore front of these activities. It is only fitting that the SLMA should be hosting the the CMA Triennial Meeting in 2016.

I would like to invite all doctors of the Commonwealth to be a part of the 24th CMA Triennial Meeting in Sri Lanka 14-16 October 2016 - you are sure to have an interesting and stimulating time while enjoying the wonderful hospitality of the Sri Lanka Medical Association.

Sincerely yours,
